Exercise to Make Yourself Happy
Exercise is good for everything except probably losing weight (but I think it might help you *not gain* weight--do you see the distinction?). Stronger and more supple muscles, happier heart, and better mood, among other things.
Don't worry about working out for hours and hours; I prefer half an hour--my minimum to help me sleep--but anything is better than nothing. Start with four minutes if you're sedentary, and feel good about it.
While I still love instructor Lucy Wyndham-Read, I'm not linking to her YouTube videos or account because YouTube is awful (yes, I will be cleaning up other pages as well). Below are some instructors--including Wyndham-Read--that are available through Vimeo and Daily Motion (who are also not crazy--something about being "fit" seems to convince some people that they don't need to worry about structural causes of public health problems, or vaccines).
