A friend challenged me earlier this week to focus on things that I enjoy and things that I'm proud of. (I'm paraphrasing--it was part of a much longer conversation--but that is the gist.)
Things I take pride in largely center on the kitchen. I've made an effort to not waste food for the last two years, and it's paying off. I'm not only doing a better job shopping, I'm doing a better job cooking and eating with an eye toward using what I have. I'm being less wasteful, but it's also tickling my creative side. Fringe benefit: when I made June a no-eating-out month, it wasn't nearly as hard as I had thought it would be. Yay! That will help me save the tens of thousands of dollars I need for mandated upgrades to my condo...
Things I enjoy come down to exercise. I genuinely enjoy working out and being active. Something I realized when I was talking to my friend is that I crave it, and it never feels like I have enough time for it. So I'm making it a goal as of when my family is out of town to start setting aside more time to exercise. Hurray...now let's just hope my upcoming PT in August doesn't tell me I have to change things up drastically.
